About
An independent fan project: deterministic planning tools for Sid Meier's Civilization VI.
What this site is
Civ 6 Planner is a set of free tools for planning a city in Civilization VI. Everything runs in your browser; there is no account and nothing to install.
- District adjacency calculator — compare two candidate spots side by side.
- Adjacency bonus chart — every district's bonuses in one table.
- Wonder placement guide, civilization guide and city-state guide — all 53 wonders, 77 leader pairs and 48 city-states.
Where the numbers come from
The calculator, the adjacency chart, wonder placement requirements and tech/civic unlocks are not typed in by hand. They are extracted from the game's own database — Gathering Storm, final patch, all official DLC, optional game modes off — and pinned to a versioned snapshot, so those numbers can be traced back to a specific game build.
Open “Why these numbers?” in the calculator to see exactly which rule fired and how many tiles matched. Where the data leaves something undefined, the result says so rather than guessing.
The snapshot does not cover everything. It holds placement rules, unlocks and adjacency, but not the effects of wonders, buildings or leader abilities. Statements about those effects in the strategy text were checked against the in-game Civilopedia instead, and anything we could not confirm was taken out.

How the strategy content is written
The strategy sections on civilization, city-state and wonder pages and the long-form guides were drafted with AI writing tools and then edited and fact-checked against the game-data snapshot and the in-game Civilopedia. The advice in them — what to build first, when to skip a wonder — is a playing opinion, not a game rule. Game text is never copied; when a patch or a reader report changes a fact, the affected page is corrected and its review date updated.
In October 2026 every strategy section and guide was re-checked against the game's own database. More than 600 statements about game rules were corrected or removed, and each page's review date was updated.
Change log
- October 19, 2026 — Tech and civic boost conditions are now written in Japanese, Spanish and Chinese instead of falling back to English. The calculator now points you to the next neighbor tile to fill in, and fixes several English phrasing errors in boost conditions.
- October 14, 2026 — Calculator: three worked examples to start from, your last layout kept in this browser, a result summary under the map on phones, and resources on improved tiles. The adjacency chart links each district to the calculator. Wonder pages gained the special placement rules of the Golden Gate Bridge, Panama Canal and Machu Picchu.
- October 3, 2026 — Every strategy section and guide re-checked against the game database; more than 600 statements corrected or removed. Wonder pages gained a list of wonders that compete for the same tiles.
Still open: whether the City Center counts toward the “per 2 adjacent districts” bonus, and touching both tiles of a two-tile natural wonder, are not defined in the game data. The calculator labels those results “Pending in-game verification” instead of guessing.
Who makes it
This is a one-person project, built and maintained in the open. If a number looks wrong, telling us is genuinely useful — the calculation is deterministic, so a mismatch is either a bug or a rule we have misread, and both are fixable.

Reports that include the district, the surrounding tiles and what the game showed are the fastest to act on.
