Kit at a glance
Kristina curates Europe's finest collection: her Great Works auto-theme the buildings that hold them, and Sweden's Nobel-minded kit earns diplomatic favor from Great People — museums become tourism machines without the usual theming puzzle.
Opening: the first 60 turns
Kristina's first fifty turns look slower than most because the payoff is in slots, not soldiers. Scout, Slinger, Settler, Monument, Settler, with Pottery and Writing early so that the capital reaches a Campus while the second city starts a Holy Site for Great Prophet points; Sweden wants every Great Person type ticking because each one recruited also brings diplomatic favor. Civics are the real build order: Craftsmanship, Foreign Trade, State Workforce, then Drama and Poetry no later than turn 45 so the first Theater Square and Amphitheater are done by turn 60. Cities should sit on varied terrain with tundra or plains in reach for later Open-Air Museums. Political Philosophy is the turn-55 target, and Classical Republic is the correct government here, since Great Person points matter more than an Oligarchy army Sweden will not use.

How to play it
Collect Great Works greedily and in any order — auto-theming means every full building hits maximum tourism. Open-air museums anchor tundra-plains cities. The diplomatic favor stream also keeps a diplomatic victory in your back pocket.
Victory paths
Culture is the finish, and Kristina reaches it with less micromanagement than any other tourism leader: buildings with enough slots theme themselves the moment they are full, so a Museum stuffed with any three Artists' works produces its maximum tourism without trading pieces around. The Queen's Bibliotheque in the Government Plaza adds slots for exactly this. Open-Air Museums scale with how many terrain types Sweden has settled, which is a reason to spread across tundra and desert that other culture civs avoid. Diplomacy is the genuine second path rather than a fallback, because the favor from Great People accumulates all game and Sweden's World Congress extras give more chances to spend it, so a Kristina behind on tourism against a runaway rival can often buy the diplomatic points instead. Science and domination are off the menu.
Synergies: city-states, wonders, policies
Cultural city-states are the envoy targets, and Nan Madol, Antananarivo and Kumasi are each worth a suzerainty; Antananarivo in particular pays culture per Great Person, which Sweden generates constantly. The wonders that matter are the slot-holders: Apadana for envoys, Great Library and Oracle for Great Person points, then Hermitage, Bolshoi and Broadway, which under Kristina all self-theme and count as full tourism sources. Pingala with the Grants and Curator promotions is the anchor governor, and Amani stationed in a city-state extends envoy reach for the diplomatic side. Policy cards run Inspiration and Revelation early, Aesthetics and Frescoes through the mid-game, and Gunboat Diplomacy plus Wisselbanken once favor and alliances are in play. For pantheon, Divine Spark for the Great Person points is the clear choice on almost any map.
Weaknesses and counters
Sweden has no early defense beyond what any civ builds, and the Carolean arrives in the Renaissance as a Pike and Shot replacement, so a Classical rush from a neighbor ends the game before a single Great Work exists. Opponents also target the Theater Squares directly, and a rival who wins the Great Artist race leaves Kristina's auto-theming with nothing to theme. Tourism is symmetrical, so a peaceful culture rival with more wonders simply outpaces her, and the diplomatic route can be locked out if two civs vote together. Common mistakes are building Museums before there are works to fill them and losing tourism to empty slots, settling only grassland and wasting the Open-Air Museum's terrain scaling, and hoarding favor instead of spending it on the resolutions that award victory points.
